Fatema Al Fardan was born in UAE in 1987, and educated in London at the American Intercontinental University (AIU) where she graduated with a First Degree Honors in Fashion Design and Marketing.
Growing up in a fashion forward family, Fatema found her vocation at the age of 9, developing a fascination for colors, styles and fabrics and filling her textbooks with sketches of dresses, tops and skirts.
As a young designer, her innovative and distinctive style earned her the Most Outstanding Student Award and the Fashion Show Competition at the AIU in London for women’s wear design in 2011.
Fatema’s career includes designing with formidable fashion houses such as Tata Naka, Bora Aksu in the UK, and interning with Louis Vuitton in the Middle East.
Fatema’s odyssey has propelled her to explore Textile Design and Fashion Marketing at the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martin’s where she has developed an international vision for design. This vision, coupled with a particular skill in constructing garments, developing technical drawings, cutting patterns, embroidering items, and dying fabrics establishes a new standard of elegance for women within her designs that are masterfully draped, well tailored, and that emphasize femininity and luxury through colors, fabrics and prints inspiring culture, ethnicity and values.
Shortly after launching her ready-to-wear women’s label in Dubai, she dressed the actress Eva Longoria at the Dubai International Film Festival press conference with a feminine, floral pink chiffon dress, part of her first collection.
With her namesake label, Fatema designs for the self assured woman of today, to flatter her subtle sensuality and feminine simplicity, all of which is reflected in her Spring/summer 2015 collection, a collection that exudes romance and understated elegance.
